Important update in iPhones for 2020 (Apple users you must check it out!)
Apple mulls 3D cameras for iPhones
- Apple plans to launch iPhones with a more powerful 3D camera as soon as next year, stepping up ye company's push into augmented reality.
- The rear facing, longer range 3D camera is designed to scan the environment to create 3 dimensional reconstructions
- This will work up to 15 feet from the device, people said. That's in contrast witness the current iPhone 3D camera system which points towards users and operates at distances of 25cm-50cm to power the face recognition feature.
- Apples new system uses a laser scanner rather than the existing dot-projection technology which does not work well for long distances.
- That's one of the many new features - -including a third, more advanced camera enhanced photo capture tools and a more powerful chip which will be used in coming generations of iPhone.
- The 2020 iPhone camera may prelude an AR headset that apple has been preparing for as early as 2020.
- Apple previously aimed to use this camera on it's latest models but was cancelled due to delay. People from the company who are unrecognised said.
